This tournament is also a fundraiser

100% of donations go to rebuilding earthquake-damaged schools in rural Risaralda, Colombia, a cause our founder saw firsthand this summer.

Chess is better with a crowd

Chessathon brings kids together through community events where they can play, learn, and compete.

We host tournaments, board game nights, and special chess events across the Bay Area. Each one gives kids a chance to challenge themselves, build confidence, and enjoy the game.

Founded by a player who competes

Chessathon was started by Sebby Suarez, a junior at The Branson School, the reigning 10th grade National Champion, ranked #8 in the United States in his age group and among the top 80 juniors worldwide.
